Chancellor's Office

Chancellor´s Office

The former GDR map room is used for exclusive events and seminars for up to 50 guests. From 1999 to 2001, when the building served as the Federal Chancellery, this room was the office of the former German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.

According to legend, the small windowless room leading to the forum was specifically built to prevent conversations from being secretly recorded by foreign spies. The walls feature goatskin-leather-covered wooden tiles that are decorated with gilded doves of peace.
