Ground floor

At Schlossplatz 1, our versatile ground-floor facilities provide the perfect setting for events of every size and style. From intimate study rooms and private dining to larger seminar spaces and auditoriums, each area is designed to offer comfort, functionality, and a welcoming atmosphere for your guests.

Foyer EG

The ground floor entry area offers a warm reception for city visitors and event guests alike.

Restaurant

Catering services mean attendees can enjoy their meals in the in-house restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere.

Cafe

Guests can enjoy snacks and coffee specialties throughout the day. Outside its standard opening hours, it is suitable for smaller receptions or exclusive private dinners for up to 40 participants.

Schloss Gracht

This room is suitable for meetings and presentations for up to 50 participants.

Study Rooms 00.14, 00.15

These rooms are suitable for small meetings of up to 12 participants each.

Seminar Room 00.17

This larger ground-floor room can host group discussions and workshops for up to 50 participants.

Auditorium III

This classroom with fixed tables set up in parliamentary style can hold up to 77 participants.

First floor

On the first floor of Schlossplatz 1, history and contemporary functionality come together. From former state council chambers to intimate study rooms, these unique spaces offer an inspiring setting for events of all kinds. Whether for exclusive meetings, receptions, or large conferences, each room combines character, versatility, and a sense of place at the heart of Berlin.

Foyer 1

This uniquely designed space can be flexibly arranged for a reception, a lecture, or a dinner for up to 250 participants.

Lounge

The room used today as a lounge is the former study of the Chairman of the State Council of the GDR. Walter Ulbricht and Erich Honecker, among others, worked here.

Auditorium IV

Auditorium IV is the former Diplomats Hall of the State Council. This fixed-seat lecture hall can now host up to 92 participants.

Chancellor's Office

Once the Federal Chancellor’s office, now an exclusive venue for events and seminars.

Palace View

This smaller conference room offers a view of the newly reconstructed Berlin Palace and is suitable for exclusive meetings or workshops for up to 50 participants.

Tower View

This large conference room, which faces Alexanderplatz and the TV Tower, is suitable for up to 195 participants.

Second floor

The second floor of Schlossplatz 1 features some of the building’s most impressive event venues. From flexible foyers to historic auditoriums and the grand Auditorium Maximum, these spaces are designed to host everything from intimate lectures to large-scale ceremonies. Sunlit corridors and unique architectural details create a distinctive atmosphere that enriches every gathering.

Foyer 2

Like Foyer 1, this space can be flexibly arranged for a reception, a lecture, or a dinner for up to 250 participants.

Auditorium I

Auditorium I is one part of the original festival room of the former State Council. The classroom has a seating arrangement for 76 participants plus one wheelchair seating area.

Auditorium II

The second half of the original festival room of the former State Council has a fixed seating arrangement for 58 people plus one wheelchair seating area. It features a wall mosaic of the coat of arms of the former German Democratic Republic.

Auditorium Maximum

Once the banquet hall of the GDR State Council—perfect for ceremonies, forums, and events for up to 360 guests.

Colonnade

This inviting and sunlit corridor leads guests to Auditorium I, II and the Auditorium Maximum. It is suitable for accompanying exhibitions.

Garden

The spacious garden at Schlossplatz 1 offers a unique retreat in the center of the city, combining history, art, and nature. At its heart stands the restored fountain, a listed landmark originally designed in 1963 by Rolf Rühle and Hubert Matthes, and adorned with a striking mosaic by artist Ortraud Lerch. The colorful, abstract forms recall the influences of Miró, Kandinsky, and Matisse, making the fountain a vibrant centerpiece of the garden.

Today, the garden serves not only as a place of reflection and beauty but also as an exceptional venue for receptions, gatherings, and open-air events in the heart of Berlin.
